Having the basic travelling essentials before you leave is important in enjoying a hard-earned vacation. It will not only guarantee an enjoyable travel, but help you as well in case a problem would arise. Create a check list, if possible, to make sure that you have all you need before you leave.
Never leave without important phone numbers, you’ll never know when you may need them. Photocopy your travel documents for security. Do a research on buying a travel health insurance. You can call your credit card companies to check for coverage. This will save you some additional expense. Keep a pen and paper in your carry-on. You will always need it.
If you are bringing electronic gadgets, check if they have dual voltage. You may need to buy a voltage converter. A plug adapter may also come handy. And never forget battery chargers.
Travel guidebooks and domestic maps are necessary, especially if your destination is a foreign country. If locals are using a language other than yours, a translation or phrase book is important. Do not rely on kindness of strangers to translate for you.
If you’re taking prescription drugs, be sure to bring enough to last your travel. Bring a mini-first aid kit (include mosquito repellent and antibiotic ointment). Base the toiletries you will bring on the length of travel. This may save you space in your luggage.
Foresight is important in having a worry-free vacation. Knowing you are prepared for any eventualities, expected or not, is better than the travel insurance that you will buy.
